"THE THINGS" I DO FOR RnR
415 Miles of driving, 3 cups of coffee (and I hate coffee), 1 bag of twizzlers (strawberry), 4 pints of water, 1 "freshcity" sandwich and 3 rest stops. The end result is those two "very used" Alden Stars you see on my car are now up at the Echo Rowing Dealer in the capable hands of Ted and Patrick to bring back to life as our two most recent additions to our growing fleet of sculls.
The roadtrip started 3:30 A.M. with a cross country tour of the Mass Pike, destination Albany N.Y. Finished 9.5hrs later up in Eliot, Me. Thing "1" and Thing "2" should be ready by our opening day and will be a welcome addition to those in the club who are looking for a different rowing experinece than the Echo provides. I'd write more but I'm exhausted.....JT

CONGRATS ON RnR'S NEWEST MEMBER
The motley crew of rocknrow would like to extend our hardiest of congratulations to Jon H's newest member to our family of growing sculls. Weighing in around 35lbs. Jon is a proud owner of a Wintech 24. Arriving just yesterday, Father and boat are doing fine (as you can see from the picture on the right.) So Jon......what will be the name of your new boat? Little Viking? We all can't wait to see how she looks on the water. Nice Job!!
Maryellen Checking in
Ya-hoo! I couldn't resist the temptation with recent summer temperatures. Out of Gas House Beach I've rowed for my first 2 days on the water this year for harbor rows! I'm heading up to Echo tomorrow for minor repairs to my scull and a row with Lorna! I'm looking forward to MANY great days of rockinNrowing -- the best for body, mind and spirit! Looking forward to rowing with you all soon. Maryellen

TASTING THE SALT
Don't be too jealous but rumors around the club house tells me thst because of the summer hot spell we've been having, a few of us have already been out on the water. Jay and Paul have been up the Danvers River perfecting their techniques on the flat water that can be found there. I rowed w/Paul once in Salem Harbor and once the Marblehead Rock-Children's Island loop with John H and both of us can testify to how well Paul is rowing his Maas.. It won't be long now till the club season is "officailly" open and I for one can't wait. (neither can Dana Y based on her FB messages to me) It's count down to rowing BABY!!
THE JOURNEY BEGINS
If you are reading this, then welcome to RnR's attempt to find yet another way to communicate better w/ it's members.
We are hoping that by all of us joining this Blog it will be the catalyst for us to share the stories of our rowing adventures, invite eachother to days out on the water, and allow us to maintain contact outside the mainstream of our business relationships.
So jump right in and if you have not done so already, set up your profile and blog away.
We are looking forward to hearing from each and everyone of you, while sharing vicariously in the adventures of this rowing season.
Blessings- Capt. Jack Sparrow
