I didn't hear about the Sunday AM row, so.......

I went out by myself. Relatively short row at 5 PM. There were white caps on top of the swells which made for a great row. I especially like it when the sea comes from the stern. Sometimes the large waves make the bow torpedo into a swell, almost stopping the boat. About half the scull disappears under water, then a little shudder and the boat pops out of the water. On the way in the wind and waves died so the conditions settles at about 2 feet waves.

Clocked a 4.5 miles row. Not too far, but very needed since I did not get out a lot last week.

  1. Speaking only for myself: I missed you both.

Jon, "didn't hear" does not count as excuse for a no show. Sunday AM row is always "ON" unless there are 10ft waves and 20+knot winds, in which case we would meet at 8am at the boat house anyway and then decide what other fun activity to do instead.

  2. Did the Viking not get the club challenge to meet on the dock at 8:00 sent to the mailboxes of all members? If there had been 20 foot waves, we would play badminton, too.

  3. Could be the most commented posting of the season.....HMM
Perhaps rule 1 of Rock n Row rulebook will be:

Misery is an island to be visited for short periods followed by a strong row home...some choose never to land, only to row by.
